The Pu'Er Tea Packaging Collection, designed by Liqi Liu, is a unique and innovative tea packaging concept inspired by the philosophy of Pu'Er Tea Company and the theme of Chinese tea culture. The main objective of this design is to bring people closer to nature and promote a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.
The design of the Pu'Er Tea Packaging Collection is characterized by its simplicity, clarity, and organic aesthetic. It is made using recyclable materials such as vellum paper, illustration board, and chipboard. The use of laser-cutting technique minimizes the need for excessive printing, reducing waste and environmental impact.
One of the standout features of this packaging collection is its multifunctionality. The exterior case can be repurposed as a lamp cover, while the interior packaging boxes can be reused as office supply containers. The tea bags themselves can be used to pack pins or clips. Additionally, the cup package, designed in the shape of a chair, can be used as a stand for a plant bottle.
The Pu'Er Tea Packaging Collection not only provides a visually appealing and sustainable packaging solution but also encourages interaction and engagement with the design. By incorporating elements that can be repurposed and reused, it promotes a more conscious and responsible approach to consumption.
The project was realized using Adobe Illustrator and has dimensions of 5 inches x 5 inches x 15 inches. It was completed in Savannah, GA, USA, between September 2010 and November 2010.
The Pu'Er Tea Packaging Collection has received recognition for its design excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2012, which recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This award highlights the packaging collection's integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.
